How to Bid

Thank you for your interest in this online sealed-bid auction. Please read the bidding instructions carefully before submitting a bid.

This auction is being conducted by Jason Neville, Licensed Illinois Auctioneer.

Step 1: View the Auction Lots

Go to the Current Auction or All Lots page and review the available auction lots.

Each lot will include photos, a lot number, item description, condition notes, pickup information, and any known details about the item.

Please look over the photos and descriptions carefully before placing a bid. All items are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties, guarantees, returns, refunds, or exchanges.

Step 2: Choose the Lot You Want to Bid On

Each item or group of items will have a lot number.

Example:

Lot 1 — Dining Table and Chairs
Lot 2 — Tool Chest
Lot 3 — Bedroom Furniture Set

Make sure you know the correct lot number before submitting your bid.

Step 3: Click the “Submit Sealed Bid” Link

To place a bid, click the Submit Sealed Bid link or button.

This will take you to the official bid submission form.

All bids must be submitted through the bid form. Bids sent by comments, messages, texts, or verbal offers may not be accepted unless approved by the auctioneer.

Step 4: Fill Out the Bid Form

On the bid form, you will be asked to provide:

Please make sure all information is accurate before submitting.

Step 5: Submit One Form Per Lot

If you want to bid on more than one lot, submit a separate bid form for each lot.

Example:

If you want to bid on Lot 1, Lot 3, and Lot 5, you must submit the form three separate times.

This helps keep each bid properly recorded and time-stamped.

Step 6: Submit Your Highest and Best Bid

This is a sealed-bid auction. That means bids are private and will not be shown to other bidders before the auction closes.

You will not be able to see what other people have bid.

Because of that, you should submit the highest amount you are truly willing to pay for the lot.

Bids cannot be withdrawn or reduced after submission.

Step 7: Watch the Closing Deadline

All bids must be submitted before the auction closing deadline.

Auction closes: [INSERT DATE] at [INSERT TIME] Central Time

Late bids may not be accepted.

Once bidding closes, the bid form will be turned off and no more bids will be accepted for that auction.

Step 8: Bid Review and Seller Confirmation

After the auction closes, all bids will be reviewed.

This auction is subject to seller confirmation unless stated otherwise.

This means the highest bid does not automatically create a completed sale until the bidder is notified that the bid has been accepted.

If your bid is accepted, you will be contacted with payment and pickup instructions.

Step 9: Buyer’s Premium and Taxes

A 10% buyer’s premium will be added to every accepted winning bid.

Example:

Winning bid: $100
Buyer’s premium: $10
Subtotal before tax: $110

Applicable sales tax will be added when required by law.

Step 10: Payment Deadline

If your bid is accepted, payment is due within 24 hours after you are notified.

Accepted payment methods:

Do not bid unless you are prepared to pay within the stated deadline.

Failure to pay may result in cancellation of the sale, the item being offered to another bidder, and exclusion from future auctions.

Step 11: Pickup Instructions

Winning bidders are responsible for picking up their items by the stated pickup deadline.

Pickup location: [INSERT PICKUP LOCATION]
Pickup deadline: [INSERT PICKUP DATE AND TIME]

Buyers are responsible for bringing any needed help, tools, equipment, packing materials, and transportation unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.

Items will not be released until payment has been completed.

Step 12: Questions Before Bidding

Please ask all questions before submitting a bid.

Once a bid is submitted, it is considered binding if accepted under the stated auction terms.
